On the 1st of July 2023 Google is going to stop supporting Universal Analytics (UA). This is being replaced by their new analytics service Google Analytics 4 (GA4).

When should we move to Google Analytics 4?
One of the key things to note is that data is not transferrable between UA and GA4, so it is important to set up GA4 as soon as possible to ensure that when the switch is made, there is enough data in GA4 to make sure your transition is not problematic.
Most people transitioning to GA4 are running both UA and GA4 together for a period before UA stops collecting data, so that when they make the switch, they already have data in GA4.

In order to switch your Passle analytics to GA4, you will need to move to using Google Tag Manager.
Here's a simple step-by-step guide for what you need to do:
- If you don't already have one, you'll need to set up a Google Tag Manager (GTM) account for your company. Once you have created an account, you'll need to create a container to use with Passle.

- We will need your GTM container ID.
This can be sent to your Passle Client Success contact. We will then be able to confirm that your Passle GTM integration is complete.
- You can now add any tracking scripts you want to use - including your new GA4 script - to your Passle GTM container.
You can also manage any third-party cookie controls via your GTM account.
